End of Summer Pool Party Cocktails

We shared details of our end of summer pool party last week, this week I spilling all the details on our cocktails that we served. You may be surprised at how easy these cocktails are to make!

I am a huge craft cocktail lover, but sometimes they can be overly complicated and guests might feel intimidated. To keep things simple for my end of summer pool party, I served Jackson Morgan whipped orange and banana pudding plain with the option of adding ice. There were no complaints and no one had to play bartender all afternoon, that is a win win in my book.

If you want to fancy it up, it would be fun to add ice cream and pour Jackson Morgan over it for a cool treat. In the past, we have created milkshake and sundae bars with every kind of topping and ice cream you could imagine. Check out our old posts for inspiration.

What is your favorite poolside cocktail?

Mother's Day Gift Guide

MothersDay

Mother's Day is coming! Have you gotten a gift yet? My favorite Mother's Day gift is of course a bottle of Jackson Morgan and a vase of fresh blooms, but I have several other ideas for every mom's style.

I love a fun bar cart, fancy earrings, barware, cocktail napkins, cookbook, high tech water bottle, or an everyday tote. I tend to gift something that my mother would not typically purchase for herself that would be considered a treat.

Use the widget below to shop our Mother's Day gift guide. What are you gifting for Mother's Day?

How to Create a Brunch Coffee Bar

For Jackson Morgan's Easter Brunch, we already shared recipes for spiked banana bread and iced coffee. We swapped out our usual bar cart for a coffee bar. This set up is easy and you can use items you already own.

How to Create a Coffee Bar:

  • Pick a theme, for our coffee bar we chose bright colors for spring.
  • Use coffee mugs you already own and mix and match. We used a variety of Ashley Brooke Design's mugs. Everyone picked their favorite saying to sip on coffee.
  • Pick your favorite liquor, we of course had our spring flavors of Jackson Morgan (banana pudding and salted caramel). We also had champagne for mimosas.
  • For your mixers, use carafes. We had iced coffee, hot coffee (we kept the hot coffee near the coffee maker), and orange juice.
  • Include fun items such as paper straws, hazelnut wafers (for coffee stirrers), tray, flowers, and artwork.
  • Have alternative drinks such as sparkling water for between cocktails.

Cheers!

Adult Easter Basket

Easter is around the corner, children should not be the only ones who receive Easter baskets. Why not make an "adult" Easter basket? Show your besties some love with an assortment of spring treats.

For our adult basket, we included fancy chocolates from William-Sonoma including a chocolate bunny, jelly beans, chocolate eggs, and speckled eggs. A "Hello Sunshine" mug from Ashley Brooke Designs. Last but not least a bottle of Jackson Morgan in banana pudding. You could also include candles, cocktail glasses, coffee beans, a favorite movie, or nail polish.

Cheers!

Banana Iced Coffee

With the start of Spring, we have traded in our traditional hot coffee for iced coffee. For brunch or an afternoon pick me up, this coffee cocktail is our go to treat. Simply add Jackson Morgan banana pudding to your favorite iced coffee.

Ingredients:

·   8 oz Iced Coffee

·   1 1/2 Oz Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in Banana Pudding

Directions:

Pour iced coffee over ice, then add in Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in banana pudding and stir.

Cheers!

Spiked Banana Bread

For my Easter brunch, I made banana bread and spiked it with Jackson Morgan's banana pudding flavor. I cheated (a little) and used William-Sonoma's banana bread mix. I love banana bread, but sometimes I do not have time to make it from scratch, and this mix saved the day.

For the banana bread recipe (per William-Sonoma's instructions on the back of the mix), I swapped out 1/3 cup water for 1/3 cup Jackson Morgan in banana pudding. It was a crowd favorite and one of my favorite parts of my brunch.

Cheers!

Easter Brunch

It is hard to believe Easter is around the corner! I put together an easy and fun brunch to celebrate the occasion. Our family always gets together over Easter weekend and my mother hosts a lovely brunch and everyone dresses in their Sunday best. I wanted the focus of my brunch to be great company and food.

For the menu, I had family classics such as a honey ham, deviled eggs, red potatoes, and quiche. I also mixed it up and had spiked banana bread, Callie's Hot Little Biscuits, specked yellow cake, fruit tarts, nest brownies from William-Sonoma, and tea sandwiches. I will be sharing several of those recipes later on The Sip.

How do you celebrate Easter?

Spring Bar Refresh

Spring

Although it is still technically winter, this weekend temperatures were in the 70's in Tennessee, which means it is time to add a few touches of spring to my bar area. Jackson Morgan's newest flavor, banana pudding is the perfect spring drink and looks lovely on any bar.

Below are a few of my favorite items to refresh your bar area for spring, I LOVE the pineapple decanter and adorable Easter pillow. A boxwood wreath is always a favorite, new artwork can freshen up any space, and paper straws are an inexpensive way to change decor with the seasons. The navy bar from Serena and Lily is part bar cart and part party bucket which will transition well for summer entertaining.

What is your favorite decor items to freshen up your home with the seasons?

Last Day of Summer Garden Party

We are sad that the last day of summer is today, but that just gives us an excuse to throw one last  summer garden party before decorating with pumpkins! Jackson Morgan just released a new flavor, banana pudding. It is the perfect drink to celebrate summer.

No party is complete without cupcakes and cocktails. Our banana pudding flavor mixed with vanilla vodka is a fun sweet treat at the end of a busy day.

Cheers!
