Friendsgiving Bar Cart

Earlier this month, we shared our Friendsgiving party. What is a party without cocktails? It is no secret that I love a bar cart. I have used mine as a pie bar, biscuit bar, hot chocolate station, and even a place to store party favors.

For our Friendsgiving bar, I wanted to have a station for guests to make their own cocktails. I made sure to include different types of liquor along with our fall flavors of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream. I added a few fall staples such as cinnamon sticks and winter liquor favorites. Since this was a tasting party, the main cocktails were on the table on the tasting papers and the bar cart stored extra for anyone that wanted something different to sip on.

I kept the dripping dried moss and glass pumpkins from our Halloween party and used it on the bottom of the cart with liquor and pumpkins, since the holiday season goes by quickly I try to purchase decor that will work with several holidays. To tie in the table theme, I included napkins that coordinated with the table runner. A battery operated candle inside of a large glass pumpkin completed the cart.

Cheers!

Predators Hockey Tickets Giveaway!

Every Wednesday in November and December leading up to Christmas we are hosting a giveaway to celebrate the holiday season.

Today, our team is giving away two lower bowl tickets to the Predators hockey game on 11/25 against the Anaheim Ducks.

Stop by our Instagram or Facebook at 4pm to see details on how to enter. Winner will be announced next Tuesday (11/20/18).

Friendsgiving Tasting Party Menu

For our Friendsgiving tasting party, I served small bites that paired well with our creams with a nod to the tastes of fall. I wanted this party to feel special, but not as stuffy as traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Several of the recipes I spiked with Jackson Morgan. For our family, banana pudding is a year round dessert especially when we have guests in town so I had to include it. Indulgent flavors such as truffles and salted caramel elevated the appetizers. I served everything as a buffet since the Jackson Morgan tasting was the main attraction for this dinner party.

The Menu

  • Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches with Pimento Cheese, Pickles, and Music City Mustard

  • Mini Truffle Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, cut small for easy dipping in the soup

  • Butternut Squash Soup, served in shooter glasses

  • Candied Pecans

  • Brown Sugar Pretzel Bites with Whipped Butter

  • Pretzel Bites with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

  • Cranberry Orange Bundt Cake, we used this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction and spiked with our whipped orange cream and topped with sugared cranberries

  • Mini Apple Hand Pies with salted caramel sauce spiked with our salted caramel cream

  • Mini Banana Puddings, we used this recipe from Paula Deen and spiked with our banana pudding cream

Friendsgiving Tasting Party

Hosting season is upon us, every year I find myself planning Friendsgiving and overwhelmed with having to make a full Thanksgiving dinner. I wanted to switch things up this year and instead of serving turkey host a fall tasting party. With so many fun flavors of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, I love to host parties where guests can try several flavors of our creams.

Decor

I reused the glass pumpkins from our Halloween party. I incorporated a few white and gray pumpkins into the mix to freshen up the table. Instead of using candles, I used battery operated string lights. It created a warm glow over the table.

Table Set Up

I paired a coordinating food item with each of our popular Jackson Morgan Southern Cream flavors. The Hester and Cook tasting papers allowed guests to try each of the Jackson Morgan flavors. Simple white serving dishes displayed the festive fall food.

Color Scheme

A simple black and white color scheme was perfect for celebrating Friendsgiving. I love all of the warm colors during the fall, but wanted to keep this party simple. I used my crystal glassware to dress up the table.

Stay tuned for more details from our Friendsgiving tasting party.

Fall Hostess Gift

During the fall season, I always like to have a hostess gift on hand. I guess it stems from my mother always telling me to not show up to someone’s home empty handed, but I love the tradition nonetheless.

Between Halloween and Thanksgiving, there are always last minute parties or trips that require a gift. Hostess gifts are perfect for staying overnight at someone’s home, party gifts, or even “booing” or “ghosting” your neighbor if you neighborhood participates.

My favorite hostess gift is to include items In a white serving bowl or large measuring cup. Here I used a bottle of our fall flavor of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, apple cider, seasonal dish towel, fall candle, pumpkin bread mix, and a wooden spoon.

What are your favorite hostess gifts?

Halloween Party Food

For the Halloween party, I wanted to keep the food easy for a drop in party with various seasonal appetizers and sweets. Hosting a party is a job itself, The Orderves Company was a lifesaver, they make appetizers that you keep in your freezer for when you need gourmet appetizers in a pinch. They are amazing for easy entertaining. The chicken and waffles and bacon wrapped dates were crowd favorites!

The Menu

  • Chicken and Waffles

  • Sweet Potato Biscuits with Grilled Ham

  • Saffron Arancini

  • Bacon Wrapped Dates

  • Butternut Squash Tarts with Goat Cheese and Pistachios

  • Chocolate Cupcakes

Halloween Party

Halloween is such a playful holiday to host a party. I love the idea of a party on Halloween night for friends and family to visit while in route trick or treating with food and themed sweets for everyone, and of course Jackson Morgan cocktails for adults. You could easily move this set up outside if the weather is nice too!

Color Scheme

I wanted to elevate the traditional orange and black colors you normally see this time of year. Buffalo plaid seemed like the perfect fit for a causal yet elevated Halloween party. The bonus is the tablecloth and pumpkins will work all fall and into Thanksgiving. I used black and white tones with a touch of gold throughout the party for a cohesive look.

Decor

Different style pumpkins with flameless candles surrounded by dripping dried moss set the scene down the center of the table. Black taper candles and fake spider web around the chandelier gave a spooky feel perfect for Halloween night. Skeletons were posed on each side of the table, one with candy for trick or treaters.

Calligraphy

My philosophy is that everything looks better in calligraphy. I had a good friend write out where all the food and drinks were going to be placed on these whimsical paper bats from Hester and Cook. They are my go to for paper runners, placemats, place cards, etc. I used mini close pins to attach the “cocktail” bat to a wreath above the bar cart.

Stay tuned for more details from our Halloween shoot this month including recipes, cocktails, and party favors. You can shop the items from this party below.
