Happy Halloween!

Hope you have a great day full of treats and cocktails.

Apple Cider Floats

For our Halloween party, we served apple cider floats. This easy cocktail is perfect for fall especially topped with generous amounts of caramel sauce and whipped cream. Our brown sugar and cinnamon cream pairs wonderfully with the cinnamon in the apple cider.

Whipped Cream, brown sugar, apple slices, and caramel syrup for garnish

In a chilled glass, add three scoops of vanilla ice cream. Pour Jackson Morgan over the ice cream. Add apple cider until the cup is almost full, leaving room for garnishes. Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, apple slices, and brown sugar for garnish. Serve immediately.

Fall Hostess Gift

During the fall season, I always like to have a hostess gift on hand. I guess it stems from my mother always telling me to not show up to someone’s home empty handed, but I love the tradition nonetheless.

Between Halloween and Thanksgiving, there are always last minute parties or trips that require a gift. Hostess gifts are perfect for staying overnight at someone’s home, party gifts, or even “booing” or “ghosting” your neighbor if you neighborhood participates.

My favorite hostess gift is to include items In a white serving bowl or large measuring cup. Here I used a bottle of our fall flavor of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, apple cider, seasonal dish towel, fall candle, pumpkin bread mix, and a wooden spoon.

What are your favorite hostess gifts?

Halloween Bar Cart

Our Halloween party would not be complete without a bar cart. This bar cart is dripping with dried moss and full of treats for guests. For this party, I had a drink station and party favors on the bottom for easy access.

To keep with the theme of our Halloween party, I used black and white with touches of gold. My favorite Hester and Cook paper lined the cart to protect from any drink spills. I had a calligrapher write out “cocktails” and “please take a spooky treat” on paper bats. I filled a lantern with gold pumpkins and had cocktail recipe books out for guests to create their own drinks. A full size skeleton held a bowl of treats. Paper bats were placed around a black wreath for a spooky feel.

I wanted this party to feel elevated so I used my crystal cut old fashion glasses. My skull decanter was the perfect vessel for whiskey. I had all the Jackson Morgan Southern Cream fall flavors out for cocktails. Lettermade has the cutest festive napkins for Halloween, which were a great addition to the bar cart. I also had to-go cups available for adults on trick or treating routes.

What is Halloween without candy for trick or treaters? I had a bowl of candy ready for guests young and old. I made a festive trail mix (recipe coming soon) and bagged in treat bags with a striped ribbon. For adults, I put two mini bottles in the bags tied with a ribbon.

Halloween Party Food

For the Halloween party, I wanted to keep the food easy for a drop in party with various seasonal appetizers and sweets. Hosting a party is a job itself, The Orderves Company was a lifesaver, they make appetizers that you keep in your freezer for when you need gourmet appetizers in a pinch. They are amazing for easy entertaining. The chicken and waffles and bacon wrapped dates were crowd favorites!
