4th of July Party

Can y’all believe 4th of July is next week? After Memorial Day, it feels like we blink and it is time for tailgates and back to school. Summer is going by too quickly! To celebrate the 4th, I threw a party with an Americana theme.

Color Scheme

For this party, I wanted a casual red, white, and navy color scheme. My mom gifted us this antique tobacco basket from a popular antique store in my hometown, Fayetteville, Tennessee. This basket is the perfect spot to hang a festive flag garland for summer parties.

In the summer, I tend to drift towards simple meals when hosting. I called my friends at Martin’s Bbq, one of my beloved spots for bbq in Nashville, for catering. Martin's tasty ribs, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, and cornbread cakes were the main items I served for this gathering. I added watermelon on a popsicle stick, fruit, and sweet tea. I used a small star cookie cutter to cut the honeydew melon to keep with the star theme. I served a boozy strawberry banana icebox cake (recipe coming soon) for dessert along with a few assorted cookies and popsicles.

For the table, I incorporated a navy star table throw (linked below). Galvanized chargers paired with striped dinner plates and flag appetizer plates, coordinated with the red flatware perfectly. Mason jars seemed like the ideal drinkware choice, especially with a red stripe paper straw. I found a matching navy star napkin to complete the tablescape. I served the food in galvanized and red enamelware dishes, which are shatterproof and excellent for easy summer hosting. White hydrangeas are my go to flower arrangement year round, for this party, I added burlap flags.

Stay tuned for more recipes from this festive party.

New Year's Eve Bar Cart

Happy New Year’s Eve!

We shared our New Year’s Eve party last week, today we are sharing details about our bar cart from the party. A bar cart makes it easy to have a cocktail station and leave more room on the table for food. I used my bar cart for dessert too. I served this fabulous cake by Copper Whisk Cakes, chocolate truffles, and gold leafed macaroons.

I incorporated the black and white theme from the party to the bar cart with the striped runner and streamers. Typesetter designed this adorable champagne print. Instead of paper napkins, I love to use linen cocktail napkins to help elevate a party such as my monogram ones from Lettermade. Behind the bar cart I used streamers and the balloon garland to create a photo booth backdrop when I rolled the bar cart out of the way.

Our salted caramel cream was the perfect drink to serve especially when garnished with chocolate truffles.

New Year's Eve Party

New Year’s Eve is next week, how are you planning on celebrating? I always love to plan a dinner party with our closet friends and family. I ask everyone to dress in their best cocktail attire like this Camilyn Beth dress and enjoy one last meal together before ringing in the New Year.

With the black, white, and gold balloon garland from Vroom Vroom Ballon being over the top, we did not need much decor other than a stripe runner down the table. Monogrammed black napkins adored each plate along with a gold party cracker. I brought out my white, gold, and black china and used matching serving dishes along with my Nora Fleming favorites to keep the table simple. How cute is the champagne bottle mini?

New Years as the last hurrah for the holiday season. To celebrate, we always have indulgent foods such as filet mignon, truffle Mac and cheese, cheese boards, baked brie, and rich cocktails. Copper Whisk Cakes made this fabulous tiered cake that matched the balloon garland. Our salted caramel cream is my favorite Jackson Morgan flavor to serving during NYE. I poured into fancy coupe glasses and added a chocolate truffle garnish, so simple but looks decadent.

The party crackers are my favorite party trick, each one has a conversation starter in it. During dinner you take turns opening each one. After dinner, I moved the ballon garland to where the bar cart is to create a Photo Booth area for guests to take pictures. I normally bring out board games and turn on the ball drop in New York while everyone enjoys cocktails.

Christmas Brunch Bar Cart

Did you catch our Christmas brunch from earlier this week? To keep the spirits going, we are sharing our bar cart from the brunch Christmas party.

I had the food on the table as a buffet style and needed an area for guests to make their drinks for the party. On the bar cart, I had a hot chocolate station complete with festive toppings. I used a red hot water kettle to keep the hot chocolate warm and easy for serving. A three tiered tray kept all the garnishes organized. I used our red coffee mugs and mini Santa coffee mugs for displaying the extra toppings.

Jackson Morgan peppermint mocha was on the bottom of the bar cart for a spiked hot chocolate option. I like to give my guests the opportunity to make their own cocktails and customize with unique garnishes. Another great reason for using a bar cart is you can roll it next to the tree for drink refills when opening presents.

Christmas Hot Chocolate Toppings

  • Mini Marshmallows

  • Mini Gingerbread Houses

  • Peppermint Bark

  • Peppermint Spoons

  • Peppermint Cookies

Lettermade and Juliska Giveaway

Happy Wednesday! Every Wednesday in November and December leading up to Christmas we are hosting a giveaway to celebrate the holiday season.

Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for a fun giveaway with these festive napkins from Lettermade and two Juliska old fashioned glasses. These are the perfect items for a Christmas cocktail party, just add a bottle of Jackson Morgan peppermint mocha.

Christmas Brunch

This year for Christmas, I wanted to host something different than your typical Christmas dinner. I opted for a Christmas brunch where I asked everyone to come in cozy pajamas and slippers to sip on spiked coffee and enjoy breakfast treats. Since the holiday season is always busy, a brunch time slot was perfect for everyone’s schedules.

I wanted to use my coveted green chairs from Society Social. I tied mini wreaths to the back of the chairs with gold ribbon. The greenery centerpiece with battery operated candles and lights made the party festive and since it is faux, I can use year after year. You could also recreate with real greenery. I like to keep things simple during the holiday season with decor since it is easy to go overboard.

Since it was a causal event in pajamas, a formal sit down with placemats did not seem right. A buffet style set up with bagels accompanied by cream cheese, donuts, Brightside Bakery treats, assortment of biscuits, and fruit was perfect for this party. We had a bar cart full of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream and garnishes for spiked hot chocolate or coffee.

Color Scheme

I kept to traditional red, green, and gold colors. I added in navy with the rug and Society Social bow back chairs. The touch of navy freshened up the normal Christmas color schemes. Since the table and food was colorful, I used only white serving pieces from the Berry and Thread collection by Juliska.

Stay tuned for more details from our Christmas brunch party. You can shop this post below.

Salted Caramel NYE Cocktail

The New Year is almost here, have you thought about what cocktail to sip on? This salted caramel cocktail has coffee liqueur in it to help keep you up to see the ball drop.

New Year's Eve Cocktail

2 oz Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in salted caramel

1/2 oz Vodka

1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur

Chocolate Frosting (for riming glass)

Gold Star Sprinkles (for riming glass)

To rim the glass, use a butter knife to frost the edge of the glass with chocolate frosting. Carefully wipe away any mistakes with a wet paper towel. Then dip in gold star sprinkles and gently press the sprinkles into the frosting. I found my sprinkles on Amazon here, but Texan Sprinkles also has several festive options.

Next, combine Jackson Morgan, vodka, and coffee liqueur in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over fresh ice in the rimmed glass.

New Year's Bar Cart

There is something special about celebrating the New Year, all the glitter and excitement around a fresh start. My favorite way to celebrate is staying in with friends with my bar cart handy for drinks and sweets.

Now for the details on the bar cart. Black, white, and a touch of gold screams New Year’s Eve. This bar cart is a World Market find from a few months ago. I found this adorable star banner on Amazon. I have had my eyes on these fun champagne glasses from Anthropologie for a few months now and finally purchased them for New Year’s. The gold scalloped plates are from Waiting on Martha and the gold forks are from Target. To pull everything together, I used several different sized cake stands to create a tiered tray to hold desserts.

As for sweets, I had truffles, gold wrapped candies, cookies, macarons, and cupcakes. To be honest, I cheated with the cupcakes by buying them from my local grocery store and topping with fancy sprinkles from Texan Sprinkles. Most people traditionally drink champagne on NYE, but at our house, Jackson Morgan salted caramel cream is the drink of choice.

ow let’s chat party favors. I saw these gold favor boxes from Swoozies and knew they would make the perfect favor boxes. I put gold foiled macarons in these pretty boxes as favors for each guest. No NYE party is complete without party hats and blowers which double as a take home gift too.

Abigail T made this beautiful calligraphy banner. I moved the bar cart to create an instant photo booth to capture fun memories. These balloons were a Target dollar bin find. I used Jackson Morgan bottles instead of the tradition balloon weights to create some flair for the photo booth. My outfit from Draper James could not have matched the party any better.

These adorable striped pieces from Coton Colors are a staple at my house, I change out the attachments for each season. The champagne bottle attachment normally stays on all year because why not celebrate everyday? I filled the cookie jar with black and white cookies for an extra treat. You can shop this post below.

How do you spend New Year's Eve?
