Salted Caramel Praline Pecan Ice Cream Recipe

I went to college in Charleston, South Carolina, where many sweet shops sold pralines. I loved the smell of those delicious treats. This recipe from our ice cream tray post combines some of my favorite ingredients praline pecans and salted caramel.

Salted Caramel Praline Pecan Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 cup Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in Salted Caramel

1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream

1/2 cup Praline Pecans plus a few extra for garnish

1/2 cup Caramel Sauce plus extra for garnish

Sprinkle of Sea Salt Flakes

Directions:

Place the bowl of an electric kitchen mixer along with the whisk attachment in the freezer for 20 minutes while you gather your ingredients. In the mixer bowl, add heavy whipping cream and mix on medium-high speed until stiff peaks start to form about three minutes. Then add Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in salted caramel and whisk another minute.

Next, pour in sweetened condensed milk. Remove bowl from mixer and fold in praline pecans and caramel sauce. Add ice cream mixture to an airtight container and place in the freezer. After the ice cream has been in the freezer for a few hours and hardened, top with chopped praline pecans, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of sea salt flakes and place back in the freezer overnight, optional.

Notes:

For the caramel sauce, you can make homemade or use store-bought for a shortcut. I found the praline pecans in the produce area where specialty nuts are stocked.

Boozy Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream Recipe

I had the best time making these recipes for our flatbread and boozy ice cream party. My brother, Jackson, was my taste tester. This recipe is easy to make and great to have on hand for last-minute get togethers. The combo of peanut butter and banana is one of my favorites for ice cream. This recipe was part of my ice cream tray, check out that post here.

Boozy Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 cup Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in banana pudding

4 tablespoons Creamy Peanut Butter

1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream

Mini Peanut Butter Cups, optional garnish

Directions:

Place the bowl of an electric kitchen mixer along with the whisk attachment in the freezer for 20 minutes while you gather your ingredients. In the mixer bowl, add heavy whipping cream and mix on medium-high speed until stiff peaks start to form about three minutes. Then add Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in banana pudding and whisk another minute.

Next, pour in sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter. Add ice cream mixture to an airtight container and place in the freezer. After the ice cream has been in the freezer for a few hours and hardened, top with mini peanut butter cups and place back in the freezer overnight, optional.

Notes:

Depending on your taste preference, you may want to add more or less of the peanut butter. I found natural peanut butter easier to mix in the ice cream.

Boozy Ice Cream Tray

Did you catch our flatbread and boozy ice cream party on The Sip last week? It is the adult version of a pizza and ice cream party. For the party, I put together an ice cream tray. It is an easy way to serve a dessert that requires minimal effort during the hot summer months.

I included all the fun toppings for sundaes. I used chocolate caramel cookies, mini ice cream cones, brownie bites, peppermints, caramel chocolate squares, marshmallows, cherries, chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter cups, waffle cone bowls, caramel sauce, chocolate syrup, and mini Jackson Morgan bottles for extra boozy sundaes. Guests could build personalized ice cream sundaes. It made the party extra fun.

To create this at home, utilize an oversized tray. I found an antique wooden soda crate and linked a similar one below. Line the tray with paper or plastic wrap to keep your toppings from leaking through the bottom. I arranged extra paper from the table runner. Then layer in your large items first and fill with your favorite ice cream toppings. Keep your ice cream containers and mini ice cream cones in the freezer until you are ready to serve.

The recipes for boozy ice cream are coming to The Sip blog soon, stay tuned.

Ice Cream Social

With the summer heat in full force, an ice cream social is the perfect way to cool off. Our family loves dining outdoors and using pool during the summer so a poolside party made perfect sense. Who doesn't love an ice cream party to bring out your inner child? We used Jackson Morgan to spiked all of the ice cream treats for the adults.

Theme

For the color palette, I was inspired by sprinkles. I used bright tones and incorporated our Jackson Morgan stripe beach towels for guests to dry off after a dip in the pool. I had a bar height table with a vintage milkshake mixer and toppings for a build your own milkshake bar. At the table, I had coupe glasses with more ice cream toppings and Jackson Morgan as a centerpiece for guests to make ice cream sundaes.

Decor

Since we were outside and ice cream can be messy, I kept the decor very simple. To keep with the theme, I used several items from Hester and Cook's summer line including the sprinkle place mats, sprinkle place cards, ice cream papers, ice cream gift tag, and green stripe runner. For the table, I had scalloped napkins, stripe coupe glasses, disposable plates, silverware all from Sugar and Cloth's new party line available on Amazon. I love these pieces, because they are pretty and disposable for a quick clean up. Nora Fleming's new melamine collection was perfect for displaying milkshake and sundae toppings.

The Menu

For the menu, I had milkshakes and sundaes. We served salted caramel, banana split, and peppermint milkshakes. I added our favorite toppings such as sprinkles, brownies, cookies, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, cherries, chocolate covered pretzels, caramel sauce, homemade whipped cream, and chocolate covered bananas. You can easily customize this with your preferred toppings.

Stay tuned for more details from our ice cream social.
