Flatbread and Ice Cream Party Bar Cart

Can you tell I have loved having this outdoor bar cart this summer? I have used it for hosting several fun parties. It is nice to have a designated drink station since our outdoor table is not huge.

For the bar cart for the flatbread and boozy ice cream party, I kept things plain since it was a causal affair. I had a small flower arrangement, Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, straws, and cups. It has been crazy humid in Tennessee the last couple of weeks, and I added lemon water to help guests cool off. I also use the bar cart to hold the dessert cups for boozy ice cream.

I found this mason jar set that included a carrier to make transporting drinks inside and out easier. The whipped orange cream flavor of Jackson Morgan is my top pick for summer. It is refreshing and tastes like a melted orange milkshake. The playful lemon wedge napkins are always fun for Summer parties. One of my hosting tricks for outdoor entertaining is to include an outdoor rug, I love this round rug for my outdoor bar area.

Flatbread and Boozy Ice Cream Party

Who else had pizza and ice cream parties growing up? We took an adult spin with the party theme and hosted a grilled flatbread and boozy ice cream party, the perfect party for the middle of summer. My brother, Jackson, had no complaints about being the taste tester for the boozy ice cream.

Color Scheme

Since it was an outdoor party, I wanted cheerful colors. The rainbow table runner set the scene followed by the bright yellow watering can as a flower vase. I used basic white hydrangeas from the grocery store for flowers, I always keep a few of these around the house during the summer months for impromptu gatherings. Pink silverware and colorful napkins added to the color scheme.

Menu

With the help of the Big Green Egg, we grilled flatbreads for an elevated pizza party. Along with the pizza, I served an easy Caesar salad. I had toppings for the pizza by the grill for a build your own pizza. Fresh basil in a mason jar, mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, and pepperonis was the base for the pizzas. You can add any of your favorite pizza toppings. For dessert, we served boozy ice cream and festive toppings for sundaes. The boozy ice cream recipes are coming soon to The Sip.

Tablescape

I wanted to keep the decor simple for this table. I used a colorful paper Hester and Cook runner as the base. Instead of traditional plates, I used wooden serving boards. These boards look like mini pizza paddles and could double as a party favor for guests. If given the option, I always go for melamine serving dishes and cups when hosting outside to minimize broken pieces. I adore Sugar and Cloth’s line on Amazon for tableware. The silverware, straws, napkins, and ice cream coupes are all disposable without looking inexpensive, this makes clean up a breeze too.

4th of July Party

Can y’all believe 4th of July is next week? After Memorial Day, it feels like we blink and it is time for tailgates and back to school. Summer is going by too quickly! To celebrate the 4th, I threw a party with an Americana theme.

Color Scheme

For this party, I wanted a casual red, white, and navy color scheme. My mom gifted us this antique tobacco basket from a popular antique store in my hometown, Fayetteville, Tennessee. This basket is the perfect spot to hang a festive flag garland for summer parties.

Menu

In the summer, I tend to drift towards simple meals when hosting. I called my friends at Martin’s Bbq, one of my beloved spots for bbq in Nashville, for catering. Martin's tasty ribs, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, and cornbread cakes were the main items I served for this gathering. I added watermelon on a popsicle stick, fruit, and sweet tea. I used a small star cookie cutter to cut the honeydew melon to keep with the star theme. I served a boozy strawberry banana icebox cake (recipe coming soon) for dessert along with a few assorted cookies and popsicles.

Tablescape

For the table, I incorporated a navy star table throw (linked below). Galvanized chargers paired with striped dinner plates and flag appetizer plates, coordinated with the red flatware perfectly. Mason jars seemed like the ideal drinkware choice, especially with a red stripe paper straw. I found a matching navy star napkin to complete the tablescape. I served the food in galvanized and red enamelware dishes, which are shatterproof and excellent for easy summer hosting. White hydrangeas are my go to flower arrangement year round, for this party, I added burlap flags.

Stay tuned for more recipes from this festive party.
