Valentine's Day Gift Idea

Happy Valentine’s Day! After becoming a member of Certified Celebrator’s Sprinkle Sister program, I have been thinking about ways to intentionally love on other people. Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to put together gifts for your loved ones. This gift basket could be dropped off at friend, coworker, neighbor, or family member’s house to spread love on Valentine’s Day. I went with a spiked hot chocolate themed gift basket, but you can make this your own with other themes.

Valentine’s Day Gift

Supplies:

Jackson Morgan Southern Cream in peppermint mocha

Gift Basket

Paper Shreds

Paper Coffee Cups

Red Jackson Morgan Southern Cream Stone Coffee Mug, Available here

Peppermint Sticks

Marshmallows

Treat Bags

Hot Chocolate Packets

Festive Cocktail Napkins

Gift Tag

Ribbon

Directions:

Gather your supplies and place paper shreds in the bottom of the basket or bin. I love these pre assembled gift baskets linked below to keep things simple. Add in your items, I tied a Dixie Design’s gift tag to the Jackson Morgan bottle with pom-pom ribbon I found at a local craft store.

I used treat bags for marshmallows and tied with a pretty ribbon. The paper coffee mugs from Natalie Chang were adorable in the basket. I also loved the Breathless Paper “Totally Unnecessary Cocktail” napkins. After you place everything in the basket, drop off on someone’s doorstep for a fun surprise.

If you are looking to gift something on a smaller scale, the paper coffee mugs filled with paper shreds and a mini Jackson Morgan bottle also makes a thoughtful gift.

Cheers!

Valentine's Day Boozy Heart French Toast

Did you catch all of our Valentine’s Day soirée posts? No brunch is complete without trench toast, especially if made boozy with Jackson Morgan Southern Cream. I followed our Salted Caramel French toast recipe, the step by step video can be found here, but made a few tweaks to make it more festive for Valentine’s Day.

Salted Caramel French Toast

Ingredients:

Loaf of Brioche Bread

3 Eggs

1 Tablespoon Sugar

3/4 Cup Heavy Cream

1/4 Jackson Morgan Salted Caramel

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Pinch of Salt

4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter

Caramel Sauce (for garnish)

Maple Syrup (for garnish)

Strawberries cut into Hearts (for garnish)

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a shallow dish. whisk eggs, sugar, heavy cream, Jackson Morgan salted caramel, vanilla extract, and salt, set aside. Cut brioche bread into half inch slices then use a heart cookie cutter to cut out hearts from each brioche bread slice.

2. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter on medium high heat until bubbly. Dip bread in the egg mixture, then add to the skillet until golden on each side. Continue until all pieces of bread have been cooked, you may need to add the remaining butter to keep the bread from sticking to the pan.

3. Add bread to a oven safe pan. Bake for 5 minutes.

4. To serve, drizzle with caramel sauce, maple syrup, and top with strawberries cut into hearts.

Cheers!

Drunken Donuts

You have have noticed a new collaboration around our social media pages. Jackson Morgan is thrilled to be included on Drunken Donuts Nashville’s menu. Drunken Donuts combines two of our favorite things, donuts and booze. These tasty boozy donuts are available in seasonal flavors that change regularly. You can only get these in the Nashville area for now.

I included the Jackson Morgan Southern Cream peppermint mocha and salted caramel chocolate pretzel donuts in our Valentine’s Day brunch. You could easily gift these donuts with a clear treat bag, fun ribbon, and a cute gift tag. It would be such a great Valentine’s Day gift for girlfriends or coworkers. I always love to top a paper straw with one of these donuts as a drink garnish for iced coffee cocktails too. The options are endless.

To learn more about Drunken Donuts, check out their website here. Next time you are in the Nashville area, grab a box!

Valentine's Day Soirée

Whether you love Valentine’s Day or hate it, it is always fun to have loved ones over for brunch. For Valentine’s Day this year, I opted for a festive brunch. You can celebrate Galentine’s Day with your girlfriends or scale this back for a brunch party for two on Valentine’s Day weekend. Valentine’s Day is the last holiday for our peppermint mocha cream until the holidays roll back around and a brunch felt like a proper send off for one of our most beloved flavors.

Color Scheme

I wanted a softer feel than traditional red and white colors for this brunch party. I opted for blush and white with pops of red. The boxwood wreaths added a fresh pop of green to the soirée and were a Target find. The invitation from Dixie Designs inspired the tablescape. I love using real invitations, it adds a nice touch to a party. I used the gift tags from the paper suite for Jackson Morgan mini bottles for the party favors.

Table

Since the India Armory tablecloth was a print, I kept the centerpiece simple with mini mason jars filled with stunning ranunculus flowers in blush pink. I tied mini boxwood wreaths to the chairs with blush velvet ribbon to match the larger wreath over the bar cart. The heart appetizer plates from Juliska were one of my favorite details. I used mini cake stands to display individual cakes next to each place setting.

Menu

I kept with a traditional bunch menu. Apple hand pies with pink icing (an adult pop tart), spinach quiche, fried chicken and waffles, fresh fruit, spiked Jackson Morgan salted caramel pancakes (recipe coming soon), heart sugar cookies, mini pink layer cakes, biscotti, assorted croissants, Jackson Morgan spiked Drunken Donuts, cinnamon rolls (topped with red and pink sprinkles), and biscuits with maple pecan butter.

Valentine's Day Brunch

Valentine's Day is around the corner and we love any reason to get together with friends over cocktails and good food. This year, I hosted a Valentine's Day brunch. Why not show your friends how much they mean to you by hosting a fun brunch or dinner? Now for the details on the festive brunch.

Decor

To keep the theme simple, I used a traditional color palette of red, white, and blush. I wanted this brunch to feel fancy since it was a special occasion. I brought out my monogrammed linen napkins and paired those with my all time favorite plates from Pottery Barn. The striped runner and heart placemats added a touch of whimsy and made clean up a breeze. My trusty Nora Fleming pieces with the Valentine's Day minis were ideal for serving the delicious food. The new wood serving board is the best for cheese trays.

Attire

Since this was brunch was on the fancier side, everyone wore cocktail dresses. I love these dresses from Camilyn Beth, they are well made and timeless. The white Tilly dress with the tulle sleeves was a favorite of mine and would be perfect for a bridal shower or New Years Eve party. The classic Go Go dress has been my go to cocktail dress for years, I own it in hot pink and navy and have worn it many times over the last few years.

Cocktails

What would a party be without cocktails? Our peppermint mocha cream was the perfect drink to serve for brunch. It goes well in coffee or just over ice (how I served it). I cut strawberries into hearts using this tutorial and garnished the cocktails using a cocktail pick. I find if you serve a simple cocktail in a nice glass such as this blush gold coupe it seems more fancy. I used our Jackson Morgan mini bottles as party favors by tying a bow with red striped ribbon around the bottles and placing at each plate.

The Menu

For our Valentine's Day Brunch, Brightside Bakery made the most delicious brioche rolls in an array of flavors and croissants which paired nicely with our peppermint mocha cream. For brunch, we had bacon, biscuits, cheese tray, spiked salted caramel French toast, fresh fruit, feta cheese pastry tarts, and festive cookies. Stay tuned for a recipe for the spiked salted caramel French toast.

How are you celebrating Valentine's Day?

Special thanks to Camilyn Beth, Nora Fleming, and Brightside Bakery for partnering with us on this party.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide for the Guys

Valentine's Day always comes across as a girls holiday, but we cannot forget about the guys. I always struggle finding the right present amongst all of the pink and red candy and heart shaped gifts.

What guy would not love a cooler paired with a bottle of Jackson Morgan? We found this green Yeti cooler that would work well for tailgating or even hunting trips. Our whipped orange flavor is always a winner with men. A rugged vest or insulated cup that works with both hot or cold drinks also make great gifts for Valentine's Day.

Cheers!

Check out our gift guide for the hostess too!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Valentine's Day is around the corner and we have a series of curated gift guides. A bottle of Jackson Morgan makes the perfect gift by itself, but paired with a hostess gift makes it a home run.

I centered this gift guide around the hostess. It is no secret that I love to host a fun cocktail party and these gifts would be perfect for any gathering. Valentine's Day would not be complete without a party dress (p.s. this Draper James dress is on sale!).

I love this fun embellished apron from Bon Aprontit, there is nothing worse than having to cover up a pretty dress with an ugly apron. Another favorite is Birdie's hostess slippers. These slippers are not your grandmother's slipper especially with the tassel accent. You cannot go wrong with monogram linen cocktail napkins, these Shop Lettermade napkins are a personal favorite. Lastly, what girl would not love a blush Le Creuset dutch oven, which also makes a great gift basket for a cocktail shaker and a bottle of Jackson Morgan.
